How much is it worth spending on quests?

23rd Aug 2017 16:23 Some quests are, in my opinion, not worth completing due to their lack of a profit or give something that cannot be easily converted for MP, or I don't have a ton of experience with. Below is a list of quests I believe fall under this category and thus will not be discussed in this blog:
Aquarium
Computer Repair
Drew
Eleka Prison
Hump Racing
Knutt House
Knutt Knight
Microwave
Personal Trainer
Robot Repair
Sewer Monster
Shusan
Slater Stalker
Sumo Sally
Talon
Travis Truck
Borak's Brew
Asks for: 1 item
Prize(s): MP and sometimes cooking items
This is a quest I recently got into, as it gives out a relatively large amount of MP (2-6k+). The cooking items it gives out are not super profitable (currently 200mp-2k each), but the MP makes this quest worthwhile.
Recommended max amount to spend: 4k
Candy Tree
Asks for: 1-3 candy/chocolate items
Prize(s): MP, occasionally candy fruit and very rarely a Chocolate Costume
A great quest for newbies, generally because the items asked for, if in stock at the chocolate shop, are cheap. Note that there are some expensive/rare chocolates/candies that can be asked for, but generally if the item(s) asked for is in stock it will be profitable.
Recommended max amount to spend: 3k
Cosmonaut
Asks for: 1 item from shops, must be restocked
Prize(s): MP, occasionally Dips, rarely Enchanted Dips
I used to do this quest a ton, but it gives out such little MP (200-5k) in my opinion it's not worth doing regularly. Dips/enchanted dips can be worth quite a bit (10-100k+) so I'll start a quest occasionally, but as of recent a lot of items have not been in stock anyway so they've been hard to complete.
Recommended max amount to spend: 2k, as long as the item is in stock
Farming
Asks for: 1-3 items from shops
Prize(s): MP and occasionally balls of yarn
This is a quest that I do regularly. The amount of MP you get from this quest is decent (1-2k per play), however the balls of yarn can be profitable. Basic colors of yarn can be ~10k, but the rarer ones can be sold for 500k+. I've received a few balls of yarn that are only given out from goals, which can be quite profitable as most of those are UB.
Recommended max amount to spend: 3k
Garage
Asks for: 1-3 car parts
Prize: MP
I regularly restock from the car parts shop so I'm a bit biased as this quest may be easier for me to complete than others. However several car parts are cheap (<500 mp) and in stock often at the car parts shop, and this quest gives out a reasonable amount of MP (2-5k) so I do it regularly.
Recommended max amount to spend: 4k
Haunted House
Asks for: 1-3 items from shops
Prize: MP and 1 crystal per quest
Some people say that this quest isn't worth doing unless you have the giftbox that gives you double crystals, but as long as you're not spending too much per quest it can still be profitable. Crystals are currently sold for 5-10k each and you get 1-2k MP. If crystals are being sold at the lower end, you can do what I do and just hold onto them and sell when they reach over 10k.
Recommended max amount to spend: 7k
Kamilah Traveller
Asks for: 1-3 items from shops
Prize(s): MP and sometimes Kamilah Codes, which are used to complete the Kamilah Pyramid
This is a quest I do regularly. Again same as Farming, the amount of MP earned is not substantial, but the Kamilah Codes are where the profit's at. Kamilah Codes can be worth from 10k to 500k, depending on how rare it is. I personally sell any codes over 20k, and keep the cheaper ones in my attic in case they happen to spike in price later on.
Recommended max amount to spend: 4k
Leprechaun
Asks for: Anything from shops
Prize(s): RP, which can be exchanged with other users
This is a quest I do regularly. You only receive RP from this quest, but this can easily be exchanged to another player via doing a Currency Exchange. You can find people who want to buy RP in the Price Check forum. At the time of writing, RP sells at a ratio of about 1:8, so this quest can be quite profitable. This is one I will normally spend a little bit more on, as you get about 1000 RP (7000-8000 MP) or more per quest.
Recommended max amount to spend: 7k
Puchalla Inn
Asks for: Soft drinks, drinks, and food
Prize(s): MP and sometimes charisma stats
I attempt Puchalla Inn quests strictly for goals, and do not recommend completing this quest if you're looking for profit. I don't necessarily use a price limit for this quest, but I will not complete the quest if any Marapop is requested (as those tend to be 10k+ each) or any coffee item over 5k is requested. The best and cheapest scenario would be if asked for all smoothie items that are currently in stock in the shop. I don't really have a recommended value you should spend on this quest as it will very rarely be profitable, so it depends on how quickly you want to finish the quests so you can complete your goal.
Recommended max amount to spend: Inconclusive
Queen Bee
Asks for: 1-3 "sweet items" (flowers/ice cream/sugar cubes/perfume)
Prize(s): MP, occasionally honey or a queen bee clothing item, occasionally all of your pets get stung (0 health)
Similar to Garage I restock flowers/ice cream/perfume so this quest is easier for me to complete than regular players. This is a rare one where she gives out a decent amount of MP (2-10k+), yet also gives out profitable items too (around 100-500k+ depending on the item, see http://www.marapets.com/wishlist.php?do=where&id=476 for full list). I will never complete a quest if it asks for a sugar cube (~10k) but occasionally the items she asks for are in stock in shops and/or can be inexpensive in shops.
Recommended max amount to spend: 7k
Santa Claws
Asks for: 1-3 plushies/toys
Prize(s): MP
Like Puchalla Inn, this is a quest that I only complete for goals as it generally doesn't end up being profitable. I'm not sure what it is about this quest currently, but the items asked for always seem to be pretty expensive (7K+ per item) so it's hard to complete. The MP awarded is minimal too so I don't like doing this quest unless I have to.
Recommended max amount to spend: Inconclusive
Secret Santa
Asks for: 1 item from shops, to be sent to another user
Prize(s): MP
Another great quest for newbies, because generally the item asked for can be cheap. Not incredibly profitable, but once again good for someone who doesn't have a ton of MP/items yet.
Recommended max amount to spend: 2k
Simerian Excavator
Asks for: 1-3 items from shops
Prize(s): MP and occasionally Simerian Slates (used to complete Slate Pyramid)
Another quest that I do regularly, that gives an minimal amount of MP (1-3k) but gives out potentially profitable slates. Slates aren't worth as much now as they used to be (15k-250k currently) but they can fluctuate in price. If you get one worth <25k, you can do what I do and just hold onto them and sell when the price rises.
Recommended max amount to spend: 3k
Simerian Explorer
Asks for: 1-3 items from shops
Prize: MP and occasionally Runes (used to complete Simerian Temple)
Please note that you need to complete the Simerian Explorer Treasure Map before you can start attempting/completing these quests. I bought mine I believe for 35m, but price will depend on sellers/demand at the time. This is again one of those quests that gives an minimal amount of MP (1-3k) but the Runes can be sold for a minimum of 150k, but most likely 250-500k. I always attempt this quest as the Runes are extremely profitable, but you only occasionally receive Runes so it's not worth spending a ton on.
Recommended max amount to spend: 5k
Snowman
Asks for: 1 item from shops, to be sent to another user
Prize: MP and rarely an ice sculpture
See above explanation for Secret Santa as the two are similar. I don't complete this quest regularly as the amount of MP won is minimal (1-2k) but the chance of an ice sculpture (50-500k) can be worthwile.
Recommended max amount to spend: 2k
Overview:
Best for newbies: Candy Tree, Secret Santa, Snowman
Most profitable: Simerian Explorer (need map), Borak's Brew, Haunted House
Stay away: Puchalla Inn, Santa Claws
