BELIEVE

There was a teenaged girl
she was at a party
she stayed much later
than she had planned.
It was pitched black.
she had to walk home
In the dark there was a
shortcut, it was a dark alley.
There was a man in the
middle of the alley as if
he was waiting for her.
She was scared and
uncomfortable.
She decided to just
take the alley. She said
a prayer asking for god's
protection. She felt more
comfortable as she walked.
Like someone was walking
with her. She arrived safely
home. The next morning,
she was reading the news
paper. She saw an article
about a girl that was
murdered in that same
alley only twenty minutes
after she was there.
She thought
about how that could
of been her. She wept,
and then went to the police
station and told them
her story. She went
into a room with a line
of men and she picked out
the man that she saw in
the alley the night before.
She asked the man one
question. Why didn't he
kill her?He said because
she wasn't alone, there
was two men walking
beside her.
