A personal archive of pet 'backstories' I created years ago based upon their costumes.

Please ignore the grammatical errors as well as the overall cringe. I'm honestly surprised I spent the time to type these out at some point??

Akar
Akar is definitely one of those pets
that has been a lot of work.
I first encounted Akar when he was around 2,000 days old.
Unfortunately saying goodbye to one of my much loved
aquatics and long term pets, he was favourable because
of how much care had been put into him. Especially the
amount of books he has read. It was evident that
someone had really dedicated time to his stats and
obviously books in order to prepare him to be a 'leading' pet.

The minute I saw him as a fasoro, I couldn't say no.
(I mean who couldn't love something that adorable).
He sat in my profile for a while, put behind other pets,
and not especially focused on. It's not to say I'm
discriminatory towards non LE's, its just that at the
time, he wasn't my soul priority. It was't until I was
on the user forums and someone generously sent
me an 'Enchanted Moonlight Decadal Plushie' that
I knew it was meant to be. Scrolling through my
"Pet Wishlist" at the time, it was no doubt that he
were to be costumed changed.

Nowadays, Akar is still one of
my leading pets. He is definitely the number one
priority and regularly undergoes training & learning.

Andreso
Andreso was and is my first ever Chibs.
Chibs have always been a very favourable pet
in Mara and I felt like I needed to jump on that
bandwagon, but I couldn't find one I was particularly
in love with. It was when the 'Moonlight'
costume series was released that I particularly
fell in love. I think at times I lack appreciation
for Andreso. He is often seen as "common"
nowadays or a costume over used, but I can
still say proudly that, yes, he is one of my
favouites.

Andreso is one of the, I'd like to say, 'legendaries'
who stands as a reminder/momento of being the first
owned of his kind by myself. Andreso takes regular
training however doesn't specialise in anything particular.

Crystelln
Crystelln is definitely one of my favourite pets.
(Lets be honest here, they are all of my favourites).
She was the first pet that started the whole sense
of achievement and Goals in relation to pets. I have
been playing marapets since I was 10 (on an older account).
And I'm not sure wether it just came down to maturity but
was never really interested in having goals in Marapets,
it more came down to how much money I had (such
a fulfilling life I know). It was when the platter pets
were released that I started to 'want' a particular pet.
Viewing other 'Splatter Zoinks' just confirmed it more.
I HAD to have a Zoink on my page, regardless of what
it took. It was definitely a journey and Crystelln was one
of my very first pets (as you can see the name vs costume
isn't very fitting I know), it took a lot of saving, at the
time Zoink Potions & Splatter Costumes cost an arm
an a leg. But I'm glad I did, because she is soul what
started the 'want' process and obsession, which I can
say I'm somewhat proud of today.

Crystelln will never be traded, she sits and watches over
the others and although may hardly be worked on, she
stands as a 'trophy' you could say, of my first Costumed
'Customised' LE.

Finalized
Finalized is simply here to be a looker.
I know thats a tad depressing for a pet. But he is one
I would never trade. I meant my god. Look at how gorgeous he is.

Never for trade. Doesn't undergo training.

Incendiare
Incendiare was one of my pre planned pets.
I aleady obtained an Ercuw maker +
Bug Costume and I knew what kind of name
I was looking for. I searched high and low. Literally taking, months,
to find a name that would fit. From memory, "Enchanted
Frostfire Ercuw" makers were very popular, so that is why you can see in her
transformations that she was, previously, FrostFire.
Considering she was obtained after Zakunari, the costume 'Frostfire'
was no use to me. Eventually I found a fitting name
to match her costume. Although it wasn't as commonly
named as I would've liked it didn't worry me. Her name,
somehow reminded me of 'bugs', I think it was because
of the close similarity to insect & Incendiare.

Incendiare is very low stated and doesn't have that much
going for her. She is a working progress and undergoes constant training.

Janiere
Janiere was one of those pets initially that
you create to just 'tag a long'. You come up
with, a somewhat, unique name and use her for
transformations, to visit Temples and to
used in the Operation Portal. There was a plan
for her, but I hadn't quite put my finger on it yet.
She was to become something. It was around the time that
the Decadals joined the marada family, that I went through the
pet colours and chose ideal low LE's
that I really admired. I'm not sure what appealed
me to this particular pet, costume combination, I think it's
simply the uniqueness and absurdity/creativity
of the costume 'mashup'.

Janiere is yet to specialise in anything particular,
and it is unsure where her path will take us.

Kiminia

Kiminia was a must have from the minute
the Nimbus Costume was introduced. A lot of sacrificing
was made in order to cossie/potion her. Sacrafices including:
completion of my wardrobe.
Kiminia undergoes constant training,
but serves no special purpose besides the
accomplishment of having one of the first Nimbus Chibs

Lanorah
Lanorah was obtained as a gift from a giveaway.
The minute I saw her I became emotionally attached.
Prior to this, I had never really favoured Figaros,
for would have been a pet that I would have happily
traded to achieve my 'dream wishlist'.However, at the time
of receiving her, I had been absent from Marapets for
a very long time (2 years to be exact) and was unaware of all the
costumes/pets that had been updated. There isn't much to say
about Lanorah except that she tags along. I can't
quite touch on it, but I feel her persona is somewhat
shy, and humble.

On October 14th 2015, Lanorah was changed to Fire,
using a Fire cossie from account upgrades. I felt as if
her old costume was kind of boring, and that I needed
to make her more, 'my own'.

I feel like with this costume change, she has become
more, 'sassy', in a way.

Lanorah regularly undergoes training like her other
siblings and doesn't specialise in anything particular.

Zakunari
Zakunari was my very first Ercuw.
I briefly remember him being traded
or a part of a trade of a LE, but I think
my main goal was to obtained a low
stated Ercuw to work on. I found it very
fitting at the time that I should commemorate
my previous username "dragon protector12",
and collect as many Ercuws as I could. It may
not be as prominent in my collecting as it once
was but it definitely still stands today. At the time
"FrostFire" had just been released and I briefly
remember how excited I was to have him on my page.
I see him as a very humble creature, a softie if you may.

Zakunari undergoes constant training to be highly stated
in battle. He will never be traded, and once again is a moment.

Rups
Rups was obtained around the same time
as Akar. I had previously had my eyes on
the "Decadal Enchanted Plushies" and
being the most favourable pet at the time,
spent my savings on obtaining one. (It wasn't
much long after this, that I was sent one as
a gift). I was searching through forums for a
Well Named Pet that could coincide with my
new Decadal, not yet having in mind the
costume he/she was to wear. Considering
the "Moonlight Costume" was bit out dated
I was determined to change her/his costume.
It was when the "Fat Decadal" was released
that I knew what I was looking for. I searched
high and low and eventually snapped up a
low stated well named non le to be transformed.
"Rups" was such a loveable name and it reminded
me, coincidently of when your Aunty came over
and she would always grab your chubby cheeks
(don't ask me why ok).

To date, Rups is a working progress,
he doesn't have anything enormously amazing going for
him, he's just average and some how I relate./
