Updated 500k Quest Runs
6 years, 1 month & 20 days ago
5th Oct 2018 19:05 Okay I've done this a few times, sadly I've never completed these. Now I have way more free time that I ever really did before, and I figured why not just start again, especially since there have been plenty of changes in the last year a and a half since I last did this. Rules will be the same as always and of course I'll document everything and put a final recommendation after all of the stats for each quest. Some quests will not be done due to too vast of a difference on collections (i.e Knutt Knight and Drew, seeing as if you have a lot of trading cards or clothes, you'll get better opportunity for profitability over someone just starting out). The rules are as follows:
1. You can only spend a total of 500k over the course of one quest type. If you only have 13k left but the quest is asking for 20k worth of the items, the run is over.
2. You cannot skip/wait out quests. You must do them one after another until the 500k (or as close as possible) limit has been reached.
3. DOCUMENT! Write down everything, how much each item costs, how much you get, what extra prizes you get if any and their current value on SS or trades. You don't necessarily have to include all of the details in the blog post (if you choose to blog about it), but keep track of it somewhere.
Quest Run Logs:
Borak's Brew-
Starting # of quests: 186
Ending # of quests: 293
# of quests completed: 107
Total amount spent: 493,739
Total amount of MP earned: 415,549
Items won: Plastic Tongs x2, Ladle x2, Plastic Fork, Tongs x3, Borak's Brew Game, Fork x4, Measuring Cup x2
Plastic Spatula, Spoon, Rubber Spatula x3, Spatula x2, Plastic Spoon, Wooden Spoon x3, Kitchen Knife, Frying Pan x2, Small Kitchen Knife x2, Peeler x2, Mortar x2, Chopping Board
Average winnings per quest (this includes value of items): 8,789
TOTAL AMOUNT EARNED (including MP value of items): 940,412
Profitability: +440,412
Personal Recommendation: Overall, this quest has improved a lot since it first came out, and even though the value of kitchen utensils isn't as high as it used to be, this is still a reasonably profitable quest. My personal recommendation would be to definitely use this quest when grinding for MP, but don't spend more than 7k-9k per quest to maximize profitability.
Candy Tree-
Starting # of quests: 212
Ending # of quests: 269
# of quests completed: 57
Total amount spent: 493,462
Total amount of MP earned: 296,153
Items won: Orange Gummy Foot, Coconut Gummy Bat Wing, Liquorice Gummy Foot, Blueberry Gummy Foot, Liquorice Gummy Leg, Chocolate Costume, Candy Watermelon
Average winnings per quest (this includes value of items): 11,925 (this doesn't include the 3 mil value of the costume as it would throw off the numbers drastically)
TOTAL AMOUNT EARNED (including MP value of items): 679,753 (not including chocolate costume worth 3 mil)
Profitability: +179,753 (+another 3 mil curren tvalue for chocolate costume)
Personal Recommendation: Overall, I did come out ahead, but as you can see from the details above, that's only due to the very few items I received. Not counting the items, which are few and far between, I only made about half of what I spent so I really wouldn't recommend this request for grinding MP. It may be worth it if you really want that costume, but even then, I'd already done hundreds of these quests before between quest runs like this and casual questing, so take that as you will. If you do decide to try to profit from these quests, I'd really only recommend completing them when the total cost of the quest is less than 5k as that seems to be about the average earning per quest.

Ending # of quests: 254

Total amount of MP earned: 228,984
Items won: Ball of Black Yarn x2, Ball of Yellow Yarn, Ball of Bronze Yarn, Ball of White Yarn, Ball of Orange Yarn, Ball of Pink Yarn, Ball of Beige Yarn, Ball of Blue Yarn, Ball of Navy Yarn
Average winnings per quest (this includes value of items): 25,634
TOTAL AMOUNT EARNED (including MP value of items): 1,563,666
Profitability: +1,063,666
Personal Recommendation: In my opinion, especially after this run, I'd say this quest is still a front-runner for best when it comes to grinding for MP. It's not as great as it used to be, in the way that I didn't even make half of the MP I spent back on MP prizes alone, however with the current market on yarn, assuming it sells, it can be worth it, and you do get yarn semi-frequently as a prize. Overall, I'd recommend this quest for sure, but I'd also highly recommend not spending more than 5-7k per item per quest.
Garage-
Starting # of quests: 31
Ending # of quests: 104
# of quests completed: 73
Total amount spent: 498,168
Total amount of MP earned: 452,168
Items won: Garage Game
Average winnings per quest (this includes value of items): 6,276
TOTAL AMOUNT EARNED (including MP value of items):458,161
Profitability: -40,007
Personal Recommendation: I think this quest definitely has a decent potential to be profitable but you need to know what limit to set for the price of the quest. Sometimes I'd get away with one items that was in the car parts shop and easily make 10 times what I spent on it, but for others, you'll get asked for 3 items that all cost about 8-9k. I think if you want to get the most out of this quest, don't complete the quest if it asks for more than 1 item that costs 8k or more. Other than that, I think you could get somewhere, but it still wouldn't be top tier for grinding.
Haunted House-
Starting # of quests: 806
Ending # of quests: 857
# of quests completed: 51
Total amount spent: 495,145
Total amount of MP earned: 80,449
Items won: Love Crystal x4, Steam Crystal x3, Shadow Crystal x5, Ice Crystal x8, Fire Crystal x4, Earth Crystal x3, Steam Crystal x3, Air Crystal x3, Grime Crystal x3, Ash Crystal x6, Dark Crystal x4, Digital Crystal x3, Energy Crystal x2 (NOTE: I actually have a double crystals giftbox, so for all intents and purposes of this project, I will include both options of receiving 1 and 2 crystals, the 2 due to the DCGB will be in parenthesis after the details for only 1 crystal)
Average winnings per quest (this includes value of items): 20,736 (DCGB: 31,769)
TOTAL AMOUNT EARNED (including MP value of items): 1,057,546 (DCGB: 1,620,217)
Profitability: +562,401 (DCGB: +1,125,072)
Personal Recommendation: If you ask almost anyone on mara about gaining MP, you'll be directed to the Haunted House quest and for good reason, those crystals always tend to stay around 10k per crystal in resale value and overall it really is a great way to grind MP, even if you do a few quests here and there that leave you a bit behind. Another major thing with this quest is, as you can see by my numbers, the Double Crystals Giftbox really does make a huge difference and pays for itself REALLY quickly. This quest like many others doesn't pay well just on MP alone, but the items skyrocket profitability. The difference though is that you are guaranteed to get a crystal (or 2 if you have the giftbox) EVERY time. My overall recommendation would be to not spend more than roughly 10k per quest, or 20k if you have the DCGB.
Kamilah Traveler-
Starting # of quests:62
Ending # of quests: 120
# of quests completed: 58
Total amount spent: 488,110
Total amount of MP earned: 154,427
Items won: Kamilah Code U x2, Kamilah Code 09, Kamilah Code 01, Kamilah Code M, Kamilah Code C, Kamilah Code 10, Kamilah Code 02
Average winnings per quest (this includes value of items): 18,340
TOTAL AMOUNT EARNED (including MP value of items): 1,063,700
Profitability: +575,590
Personal Recommendation: Even though the outcome shows a pretty great profitability, I don't think this quest is the one you want to do to actual grind MP. The fact is, all of the profit is made from items, and much like others I've already pointed this out in, the items are so unpredictable and few and far between that it's just not worth it. If you do choose to do this quest, I'd recommend not spending any more than 5k per quest, 3k if you actually want the MP rewards alone to create very little profit.
Leprechaun-
Starting # of quests: 98
Ending # of quests: 161
# of quests completed: 63
Total amount spent: 494,840
Total amount of MP earned: 60,270 RP (482,160 MP using conversion of 1:8)
Items won: Leprechaun Trading Card
Average winnings per quest (this includes value of items):
TOTAL AMOUNT EARNED (including MP value of items): 484,419 after conversion from RP to MP
Profitability: -10,421
Personal Recommendation: Overall, this quest is really good for picking up RP quickly, and it can be profitable as long as you set good limits. My suggestion would be to not spend more than 5k per quest, sometimes you won't make it back, but generally sticking to that, you should still be able to make a profit.
